The website Comet Branding, has changed since I last saw it. Last semester when Sara Meaney visited this class, we couldn’t really understand what her company did for its clients. That is the first change I noticed on the website. When you run the mouse over the client list, it gives a short but good-enough description of what Comet Branding does for them.
Who Comet helps
Comet Branding is a public relations, branding and social media that helps out its respective clients get noticed. They help these clients then better connect with their customers.
Their specialty obviously is in online media. One of the things Sara said to us last year was in order to describe one’s company and actually get site viewers to read through the description, one mjust use bullet points. And that’s exactly what Comet Branding uses to show the viewers what they provide customers. It is easy to read through and doesn’t bore you like some websites do with paragraphs.
Comet Branding’s commitment to online media doesn’t stop there. Its use of all different social networks is what makes them a killer company. And when they add links to all of their social media profiles on their website makes them even more killer.
Comet Branding on Twitter
I definitely liked the LeBron James blog the best. I love that commercial. And yes, I do think it will help to rehabilitate his image. Being a public relations company, this is a great post for Comet Branding.
LeBron & Nike
I’m looking forward to the talk from Sara Meaney. You can tell from the website that she is truly invested in her company. Not only that, but she is incredibly experienced in the marketing and public relations world, having held many positions before starting Comet Branding in 2009.
The question I have is how will she relay the writing aspect of multimedia to us?

I agree with you that the LeBron James blog was a good call on their part posting about it being a public relations company. I also noticed and enjoyed the links to their social media profiles. They really caught my attention and I had to check them out.
ReplyDeleteThat's neat that you got to see her last year. I hope she's just as engaging as that time. It sounds like it was interesting. It's really neat that she used her own ideas that she gave out in class for you last time. You know that the advice she gives out is going to be sincere!
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that they mention who is the left brain, and who is the right. A lot of the times we don't think about that stuff when it comes to an agency like this, because we're only seeing the finished products. But the fact is that there is a logical side and a creative side, and that they are two seperate entities in this business.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed reading the LeBron blog as well. Personally I'm not a huge fan of him, but I think it's going to take a lot more then just being in a million ads for Nike to get the fans to like him again. I think what really buried him besides leaving his fans in his home state is the big spectical he put on, "The Decision" to announce were he was going. I think fnas would have been less negative to him if he were to join Knicks or something...a less stacked team if you will.
ReplyDeleteI havn't seen the site before but thats nice that they changed it if it was some what confusing before, I guess that means there actually listening to their feedback about their site. Nice post btw
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised by the amount of useful content on the site. It has something to offer users who are not there to check out Comet Branding as a potential vendor or employer. The blog posts, news and events sections offer a lot of valuable content. I cannot wait to see what the new site looks like and how it functions. With that amount of blogging they have associated with the site and the fact that the new site is operating via WordPress their SEO is going to be amazing. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteMatt, I didn't like how the customers boxes were not clickable. I would have liked to see some of the examples that they did for that company rather than just having a box that gives a small preview. However, the site was well done and the links in their blog section was really well done.
